3 Steps to a Better Smile With Porcelain Veneers Dentist Holland MIDo you ever wish you could improve the appearance of your smile? Ask Dr. Habecker if you’re a candidate for porcelain veneers.

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin porcelain shells that cover the surface of front teeth. Our dentist may recommend veneers to conceal small stains, chips, and other types of cosmetic damage.

The pearly exterior of porcelain veneers helps you give the best first impression while enhancing your natural beauty.

You may be a candidate for the veneers procedure if you have:

  • Tooth discoloration
  • Chipped teeth
  • Slight gaps between front teeth
  • Irregularly-shaped teeth

We’ll explain the dental veneers process in three steps.

1.) Consultation

Before we can recommend the veneers procedure to restore the appearance of front teeth, we’ll need to sit down with you to discuss your full range of options. We make sure that you are aware of what treatments are best for your specific case.

Since all of our patients have different oral health needs, it is important for us to collaborate with you to determine your best plan of action for improving your smile.

2.) Preparation

If we determine you’re a candidate for porcelain veneers, we will begin preparing your teeth for the procedure. We’ll carefully remove the topmost layer of your teeth to create space for your new porcelain veneers.

It is important that we do this so that the veneers will rest naturally on the surface of your teeth. Otherwise, your new porcelain veneers will make your teeth appear big and bulky. Local anesthesia can be used while removing the surface of your teeth if you decide it’s needed.

After the surface has been prepared, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and send them to our lab. Your resulting quality veneers will be ready to place during your next appointment with us.

3.) Procedure

Before your dental veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth, we’ll tailor the veneers to further ensure a custom fit. These alterations may include trimming excess material and adjusting the color. Once our dentist is satisfied with how your veneers fit and look on the surface of your teeth, he will prepare your teeth for the bonding process.

The receiving teeth will be cleaned, polished, and etched to create a strong connection to the veneers. Cement will be used to bond your teeth to the new material. Our dentist will then use a special light beam to solidify the cement, creating a solid link between your tooth and the porcelain veneer.

Excess cement will be removed and your bite will be checked so that your new smile will fit as comfortable as possible.

COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DR. HABECKER AND HIS TEAM

Dear Patient Family,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all of us. Many of you have been forced to wait for dental care and we appreciate your understanding while we kept our office closed to follow orders from the Governor's Office.

We are happy to say that we are opening our office for all patient treatment on June 1st, 2020. Our hours of operation will go back to normal, Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm. We want you to know that there will be some changes at your next appointment. Please be patient with us as our protocols will inevitably change as new guidelines are released.

  • We ask that you use our parking lot as the waiting room.
  • Please wear a mask when you come into the office and leave it on until entering the treatment room. Homemade is acceptable.
  • Only the person receiving treatment should come in the building, all others will be asked to wait in the car if at all possible. The exception will be for our minor patients who may have one parent accompany them.
  • We will be asking you some questions when you arrive at the office and we will also be taking your temperature.
  • We will not be able to offer magazines, drinks, or toys at this time as they cannot be disinfected to our standards. Eventually this will change and we will be happy to offer our amenities once again.

These changes have been made to adhere to the latest CDC guidelines and for the benefit of our patients and our staff. We want you to know that our office has always taken the safety of our patients very seriously and that we will continue to follow the highest levels of sterilization and disinfection to keep you protected. If you would like more information on what measures we have taken we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

We cannot say how excited we are to see all of our patients again and to provide for their dental needs. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces soon!
